About the event
Last spring, Alexandria Griffin participated in a joint project between the UCF Anthropology Department and the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station known as the Cape Canaveral Archaeological Mitigation Project (CCAMP). During CCAMP, Griffin worked on uncovering and restoring undocumented graves in historic cemeteries on base. In her presentation "The History of Cape Canaveral prior to NASA", Griffin will share insights into the founding families of Cape Canaveral taken from these historic contexts.
Alexandria Griffin is a senior undergraduate anthropology student at the University of Central Florida and a recipient of the SAAA Eugene Lyon Education Fund in 2023
